Kato Konpyuta takes machines apart to find the music in them. His studio is a floor covered in records and half-opened machines: old Japanese computers, a sampler with the lid off, a turntable wired into a laptop, and a folder of scripts he wrote for chopping breaks.
His friends started calling him Konpyuta because he never leaves the computer, and the name stuck.
The debut single Last Train is out on 2 October 2026, the first taste of the Shibuya EP. He DJs too: turntables, a laptop, an old sampler and whichever machine he pulled apart that week. His mixes will go out on KKFM, the radio in the room.
He makes graphic design and art too, and most of what you see on this site came off the same workbench.
