Kato Konpyuta (カート・コンピュータ) is a music and tech geek making Shibuya-kei: jazz chords, soul and funk grooves, hip hop drums and breakbeats. His debut single Last Train is out on 2 October 2026, ahead of the Shibuya EP.

Kato Konpyuta (カート・コンピュータ) makes Shibuya-kei from a geek’s bedroom studio: jazz chords, soul and funk grooves, hip hop drums and breakbeats.

He takes machines apart to find the music in them. The studio is a floor of records and half-opened machines: old Japanese computers, a sampler with the lid off, a turntable wired into a laptop, and a folder of scripts he wrote for chopping breaks. Friends started calling him Konpyuta because he never leaves the computer, and the name stuck.

His debut single Last Train is out on 2 October 2026 on Konpyuta Records, the first track from the Shibuya EP. He also DJs, and puts out graphic design and art alongside the music.
